Match-winner Aaron Lennon insisted the lads never lost faith despite going behind at West Ham on Sunday.

'Azza' struck the winner in the 80th minute at Upton Park to send us back to the top of the Barclays Premier League table with three wins in our opening three matches.

Carlton Cole opened the scoring for the Hammers 10 minutes into the second half but then misplaced a backpass into the path of Jermain Defoe, who smashed home the equaliser.

Aaron then pounced to secure our best start since to a season since the double year.

It was a typically lively London derby as the lads passed an early test of character.

"Obviously when they scored the crowd were lively which lifted them but I think it got us going also," said Aaron. "But you give Jermain a chance and it is in the back of the net. We were glad to bring it back to 1-1.

"We never lost faith or confidence, but that is the way we are playing at the moment.

"The lads are working hard, that was our third match in a week, it has been difficult but we kept going and we got our reward.

"We will take it a game at a time. We have started well so hopefully we can keep it going."
