Here are a few more facts on our third opponents in the group stages...

- Progressed to the UEFA Cup this season after coming through the Intertoto Cup by defeating Finnish side Honka and Gent of Belgium.

- Qualified for the group phase of this year’s UEFA Cup after overcoming HJK of Finland in the second qualifying round upsetting Serie A side Sampdoria in the first round.

- Aalborg were the first Danish side to compete in the Champions League

- They opened their UEFA Cup Group G campaign with a 1-1 draw against Anderlecht. Mattias Lindstrom scored four minutes from time to earn a point for the Danish side- their 50th goal in UEFA club competition.

- Aalborg have only met English opposition once before in UEFA club competition when they were eliminated by Everton in the European Cup first round in 1966/67. They drew 0-0 at home but lost 2-1 at Goodison Park.

- Aalborg forward Joseph Curth formerly played for Feyenoord, while Michael Jakobsen also played in Holland for PSV Eindhoven between 2003 and 2005 at the same time Lee Young-Pyo was at the Club.

- Goalkeeper Karim Zaza is one yellow card away from a one-match ban in the UEFA Cup.

- Currently second in Superligaen after 17 games, trailing leaders FC Midtjylland on goal difference, having won ten games in the league so far- more than any other side in the Danish top-flight.

- Martin Pedersen is a self-confessed lifelong Spurs fan.

- Finished third in Denmark last season.

- Have suffered just one defeat against Randers in 15 games in all competitions.

- Andreas Johansson once scored twice at White Hart Lane in a 2-2 draw against Spurs in the 2005/06 Premier League season, before ending the season with a red card against Arsenal in the final game to be played at Highbury.

- Curth is the leading scorer in the Danish league along with Swedish international Rade Prica, who enjoyed four seasons in the Bundesliga with Hansa Rostock, with eight goals apiece.

- This is Swede Erik Hamren’s fourth season at the Aalborg helm.

- Finished third in Denmark last season.

- They have won the Danish league twice previously- 1994/95 and most recently 1998/99.

- They have also reached seven Danish Cup finals, coming away as victors on two occasions.
