A big thank you to fans who made the long trip to St James' Park on a cold, dark winter's day for yesterday's game with Newcastle United.
With Christmas just days away and the whole nation tightening its belts during the current economic climate, we still managed to fill our ticket allocation of 2,300.
This goes to show the unwavering commitment of our travelling support, and players and staff alike have noted this.
Manager Harry Redknapp said: "It was unbelievable, as our away support always is. The fans are fantastic and it's so important for our players to run out at an away ground and see our fans.
"That's why it would have been great to have at least got a point there, but we really do appreciate the support for sure."
Captain Ledley King added: "It was great support from the fans. I know they were high up in the stadium but the lads appreciated them making the trip and getting behind the team.
"They always help us on our travels, so we're just disappointed that we didn't get the result for them."
