The vice-captain expects The Lane to be basking in that holiday feeling and it is the team’s duty to make sure spirits remain high among fans throughout the summer months.
And if the support is as passionate as it has been throughout the current campaign, Robbie has no doubt we will be ending proceedings on a high note.
He said: “The most important thing is to send the fans off on a high. We may have little to play for, but we still want to win the game for them.
“As professionals, we always want to win, and with the fans being as supportive as they have been, we want to send them away looking forward to next season.
“It’s the last game of the season and everyone will be on a high with a break ahead of us after a long hard campaign.
“It’s going to be a tough game because Liverpool have top quality opponents who need no introduction.
“But in our final home game of the season, I think we’re capable of beating anybody, so I’m expecting a good game.”
Robbie also reserved praise for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres, a fellow prolific goalscorer who has netted 23 times in his maiden Barclays Premier League season.
‘Keano’ added: “To come over in your first season and score as many goals as he has done is incredible – he’s been great.
“People have been impressed with his goalscoring but his work rate is so high as well. He gets his knocks and bumps but he always gets up, and people respect him for that.”
