Our Norwegian hitman was on target in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers but had to be withdrawn at half-time after a clash of heads left him with a possible cracked cheekbone.
A serious leg injury ruled him out for three months at the start of the season and niggling injuries have restricted him to just 12 starts and 10 substitute appearances this campaign - he's still managed eight goals.
Boss Glenn sighed at Bolton: "He did excellently for us but the downside again is that he's injured.
"That seems to be the story for him in the last four years. If we get him fit, then he's going to he a hell of a player.
"But he always seems to pick up something, unfortunately. If we can get him playing 30-odd games a season I think there's 20 goals plus in him. But that hasn't happened in the last four years.
"That's a challenge for him and me as manager to get that out of him."
Glenn Hoddle insists Steffen Iversen can be a 20-goal a season striker - if he can stay fit.
