Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Linda Tomkinson, from St Albans will have the experience of a lifetime when she tries to 'Hit the Bar' for £10,000 at half time during the Spurs v Leeds United match on 24th February.

36 year-old Linda won the opportunity via a promotion run by Spurs sponsors Holsten at her local Safeway store in St. Albans. As part of the prize Linda will also receive four tickets to the match meaning her husband Russell and their two sons Luke (12) and Connor (7) can watch her in action.

Linda will have two opportunities to strike the ball against the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area at the South End of the stadium, in front of the home and away fans. If either shot hits the crossbar she will be £10,000 better off.

"In front of 36,000 fans, trying to Hit the Bar is a pretty daunting task," said Andrew Edge, Marketing Director Holsten UK. "That's why Linda will get £1,000 from Holsten even if she misses."

"I was so shocked when I heard I'd won," said an excited Linda, "I've never won anything like this before. I'll be a bit of a nervous wreck beforehand."

Linda is the first woman to take part in Holsten's 'Hit the Bar' and has the chance to make history by becoming the first person to strike the crossbar.

Holsten originally sponsored Tottenham Hotspur from 1983 until 1995 and their current sponsorship began in 1999.
