Looking at postal zones all over the country where a little bit of Spurs history was made. This month John Fennelly takes us back to NN5 5QA – Northampton Town’s current home.

Although we had played at Northampton Town’s former County Ground just the once in a previous competitive game, our similarly sole visit to their present day Sixfields Stadium home would prove a particularly encouraging one.

New manager George Graham took his side there on October 27, 1998, for a third round League Cup match. And our 3-1 win in rain-lashed conditions proved the springboard that would see us go on to Wembley and lift the trophy.

Having put out Brentford over two legs in the second round, we then eclipsed Liverpool, Manchester United and Wimbledon before beating Leicester City in the final with Allan Nielsen’s dramatic late winner.
