Egypt

Former Zamalek, Gent, Ajax, Celta Vigo and Marseille striker Ahmed Hossam Hussein Abdelhamid, known simply as ‘Mido’, joined us on an 18-month loan from Roma in January, 2005.

Scoring twice on his Spurs debut in a 3-1 win over Portsmouth on February 5, 2005, the Egyptian international would eventually sign permanently for us in 2006. He scored a total of 19 goals in 61 appearances in all competitions for us before a move to Middlesbrough in 2007.
