Road To The Lane Younes Kaboul

A detailed timeline on the route our current players have taken from day one on their way to Tottenham. This month we feature French international Younes Kaboul

1986        Born on January 4 at Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, a small French town on the picturesque Swiss border, five miles from Geneva

1991       Embarks on his career in youth football with local side Bellegarde.

1993       Continues to serve his early footballing apprenticeship with Concordia. 

1999       Moves to Plastics Vallee in July that year.

2000       Is spotted by Auxerre and moves to Burgundy to join the youth set-up at Stade de I'Abbe-Deschamps.

2004       Promoted to the Auxerre senior side. Makes his league debut in 2-0 win at Toulouse in the October.

2005       In June helps Auxerre win the Coupe de France with a 2-1 victory over Sedan Ardennes at the Stade de France.  Also part of France side that lifts the UEFA Under-19 Championship in Northern Ireland.  France defeat England 3-1 in the final at Belfast's Windsor Park. Plays in UEFA Cup.
