Past-Present, Where Are They Now?

Where are they now? We catch up with a former player to find out what they are doing now and briefly look back on their time in N17.


Our former midfielder Stephen Clemence has the date October 26, 2013, highlighted in his diary.

For that is the day he returns to his cherished former base at White Hart Lane, in his current role on the coaching staff at newly-promoted Hull City, as we host the Tigers in a Premier League clash.


Now 35, Stephen is the son of legendary Spurs and England goalkeeper Ray Clemence MBE and, after switching allegiances from his father’s old club Liverpool at a young age, he admits the chance to marvel at the wizardry of Paul Gascoigne in his prime was one of the main reasons he fell in love with a club he would go on to represent with distinction from the mid-1990s until 2003.

He says: “I was a Liverpool supporter as a lad but I left the city at a young age and it was around the time that Paul Gascoigne came to Spurs that I really started following the club - although obviously my dad playing for Tottenham also helped!
