Flashback - with Tony Galvin

Former Republic of Ireland international winger Tony Galvin answers our questions this month, recalling his playing days. Born in Huddersfield, Tony was brought to the Club by Keith Burkinshaw in 1978 from non-league Goole Town and was part of our successful side of the early 1980s. He left us for Sheffield Wednesday in 1987.

What was your pre-match meal?
Generally the one I think I had the most was cheese omelette, but I don’t know if it’s an acceptable pre-match meal anymore! That’s what I used to like, along with a bit of toast as well.

What current player would you have liked to have played alongside?
I’ve never really thought about that. I’ve always liked Aaron Lennon but I think I’d also like to have played in a team with Christian Eriksen because of what he can do on the ball.
