MySpurs

Dream Team

Tina Bellamy, from Thetford, has been supporting Spurs since 1975 and is another fan that has only included players that she has actually seen play in a Spurs shirt. Steve Perryman remains her all-time favourite. This is her favourite all-time best Spurs XI.

“On my first ever visit to White Hart Lane at the age of 14, I watched us beat Wolves 3-0. We were in a relegation dog-fight at the time but Steve Perryman scored twice that day and he instantly became my hero. It was a straightforward win and I felt life as a Spurs fan would always be like that! How wrong could I be!”

Diary_PerrymanGOALKEEPER: RAY CLEMENCE

Having come in at the tail end of Pat Jennings’ career, many might expect me to go for him. But the big fellow left early in my time as a fan and so I saw a great deal more of Clem. And what I saw was a highly competent and experienced international of exceptional quality. You can’t ask for much more.

RIGHT-BACK: STEVE PERRYMAN

As I say, my favourite from day one. Steve (pictured, right) had many qualities but it was his commitment to the club that was the number one asset to my mind. True, I was swayed by his all-round performance on my debut at the Lane but he was also an exceptional player who gave everything in every game.

LEFT-BACK: CHRIS HUGHTON

As with Stevie, all Spurs fans love a home-grown player. I had seen Hughton in the Reserves before my Dad finally took me to a senior game and he had always impressed with his energy and drive. He was comfortable in possession and so busy down the line that his attacking play was an added dimension.
