1986    Diego Maradona plays for Spurs in Ossie Ardiles’ benefit game against Inter Milan at White Hart Lane. We win 2-1 with goals from Mark Falco and Clive Allen.

2005    Radek Cerny (pictured, left) makes his Spurs debut in a 5-1 home win over Aston Villa. Fredi Kanoute scores twice while Andy Reid nets his first goal for us.


1992    Gary Lineker makes his farewell appearance for Spurs at Old Trafford where he scores but we lose 3-1.

2012    Brad Friedel becomes our oldest-ever league player at 40 years, 350 days. We win 4-1 at Bolton.

Alex Pritchard’s 22nd birthday

1972    We win 2-1 at Wolves in the UEFA Cup Final first leg. Martin Chivers bags both goals.

2008    Our first Premier League win at Reading. Robbie Keane hits the winner.


1935    Our already relegated side go down 4-3 at Leeds on the final day of the season. Len Bolan, Johnny Morrison and Doug Hunt all score.

1963    Jimmy Greaves breaks our goalscoring record for a season when he bags his 37th in a 4-2 home victory over Sheffield United.


1962    We beat Burnley 3-1 at Wembley to retain the FA Cup. Our marksmen are Jimmy Greaves, Bobby Smith and Danny Blanchflower (penalty).

2010    Key game as we win 1-0 at Manchester City and head for the Champions League.
