Flashback - with Chris Perry

Recalling his playing days this month is former centre-half Chris Perry. Having grown up at Wimbledon and spent much of the 1990s there, we signed the defender in July, 1999, and he went on to make 146 appearances, scoring four goals, for us over the next four years. Moves to Charlton Athletic, West Bromwich Albion, Luton Town and Southampton followed – the now 42-year-old leaving the Saints in 2010.

What was your pre-match meal?

When I was at Spurs we always used to go to a hotel before a game and it would be chicken and beans or something like that. But as I got older I didn’t really have a pre-match meal. I used to go to the shops and buy raisin croissants and just have them! I don’t think it was particularly healthy, but there you go!

What current player would you have liked to have played alongside?
Definitely Harry Kane. He’s a fantastic goalscorer and he’s got such talent and ability. It would be great to play alongside him and watch him hopefully get better at Spurs.
