They called it the Cockney Cup Final. And that meant our 1967 Wembley success over Chelsea had particular relevance to our London-born trio of Alan Mullery, Jimmy Greaves and Terry Venables.
And, as the opposing side kept reminding Greaves and Venables throughout the match, both had started their careers at Stamford Bridge – with Venners coming in for extra stick from his former team mates as he had only made the move the previous May!
And, although it was the first ever all-London final, our team contained just as many Scots with Dave Mackay, Alan Gilzean and Jimmy Robertson all in there!
