I was 16 when I finally made it to see Spurs at home. The game was a pre-season friendly against Fiorentina in 2010 and I went with my neighbour and his two cousins.
We went by train to Liverpool Street and on to White Hart Lane with the excitement growing as each station went by. The train was packed with Spurs fans and you couldn’t help but be lifted by their enthusiasm.
Since then I have understood why. Despite how the previous season has gone, we Tottenham supporters always return with great optimism once the summer break has re-charged our batteries.
