This picture from the early to mid Fifties shows two giants from our past – Arthur Rowe and Alf Ramsey – in the old West Stand treatment room at White Hart Lane.

Rowe, a cultured centre-half who was born in Tottenham, won his only international cap when England played France – at the Lane! So, after playing for us between 1930-38, it was no surprise when he returned to his spiritual home as Spurs manager in May, 1949.
