Looking ahead and back on events on the same day in years gone by.

SPURS v CHELSEA, Barclays Premier League, at White Hart Lane, 5.30pm

1985    We arrive at Highbury on top of the Division One table and cement that position with a 2-1 win. Mark Falco and Garth Crooks score our goals.

2014    We win 2-1 at Old Trafford. Emmanuel Adebayor and Christian Eriksen (pictured, right, celebrating with Aaron Lennon) net.


1909    We win 3-0 at home to Leeds City as we go for promotion from Division Two. Billy Minter bags a double.

1982    We knock Arsenal out of the FA Cup at the third round stage at the Lane on our way to retaining the trophy. Garth Crooks scores the only goal.


1920    Bert Bliss and Jimmy Dimmock share the goals as we win 2-1 at Stockport County on our way to topping the Division Two table at the end of the season.

2000    We start the new Millennium with a 1-0 home win over Liverpool thanks to Chris Armstrong’s goal.


Younes Kaboul’s 29th birthday

1941    A 3-0 home win over Leyton Orient in the London War Cup. Jack Gibbons hits a hat-trick.

1958    We beat Leicester City in the FA Cup third round for the second successive season at White Hart Lane. This time it is 4-0 as Bobby Smith leads the way with two goals.


BURNLEY v SPURS, FA Cup, Third Round, at Turf Moor, 7.45pm

1895    We draw 3-3 at London Welsh in the FA Amateur Cup Divisional Final Replay.

1998    We beat Fulham at the Lane in the FA Cup third round. Stephen Clemence and Colin Calderwood plus an own goal lead to a 3-0 win.
