It was always felt that Steve Perryman and Graeme Souness promised a potent future midfield combination as they emerged at White Hart Lane together during the late 60s and early 70s.
Both came from different backgrounds yet were the perfect balance as they showed a blend of stamina, steel, skill and adventure at the heart of our Youth team at the time.
Perryman was born in Ealing on December 21, 1951. He signed for us as an apprentice in July, 1967, and was upgraded to full professional status in January, 1969.
Souness was born in Edinburgh on May 6, 1953. He signed for us as an apprentice in April, 1969, and stepped up to become a pro in May, 1970.
