1928 Legendary winger Tommy Harmer, known affectionately as ‘The Charmer,’ born in Hackney. He would start with us as an amateur in August, 1945.
1960 We establish our record win with a 13-2 home victory over Crewe. Les Allen (5) and Bobby Smith (4) led the way for us in an FA Cup fourth round replay. We went out in the next round at home to Blackburn Rovers! Rovers lost to Wolves in the final.
1979 Tony Galvin makes his Spurs debut at home to Manchester City. We lose 3-0.
1933 Willie Evans (pictured, right) scores twice as we beat Grimsby Town 4-3 at White Hart Lane in Division Two. We are promoted at the end of the season.
1961 We suffer our first home defeat of our ‘Double’ season. Leicester City depart with a 3-2 win.
