“Keith Burkinshaw’s great team of the early Eighties really captured my imagination as a schoolboy and I was instantly smitten by Spurs. I still am.”
GOALKEEPER PAUL ROBINSON
I know it is usually Pat Jennings when it comes to a best Spurs side but I firmly believe that Robbo pushed him all the way. When he was good he was very good and provided such a massive foundation at the back.
RIGHT-BACK STEVE PERRYMAN
He was the heart beat of our great cup team and certainly led by example. His versatility in defence or midfield adds greatly to his impact on any side and he would certainly be my captain. An inspiration and an exceptional defensive performer.
LEFT-BACK CHRIS HUGHTON
I’ve always felt that our Eighties defence was exceptional with Graham Roberts and Paul Miller providing such balance with Perryman. But Hughton was the star of the show and gave us so much down the left. Scored goals as well as stopped them.
