Road to the Lane - Kieran Trippier

A detailed timeline on the route our current players have taken from day one on their way to Tottenham. This month we feature our new right-back KIERAN TRIPPIER.

1990

Road_CityBorn in Bury on September 19.

1999

Does well in local football but opts to join the youth set up at Manchester City at the age of nine despite interest from the nearby Gigg Lane club.

2007

Is signed by City as an Academy scholar in July.

2007

Kieran is called up to the England Under-18 squad and makes his debut as substitute in the international friendly against Ghana at Gillingham in November. England win 2-0.

2008

In April he captains City to a 4-2 aggregate FA Youth Cup Final success over Chelsea.

2008

Emerges through the Academy ranks to sign his first professional contract. Becomes a regular in the Reserve side at the then City of Manchester Stadium (pictured, right).

2008

Wins his first England Under-19 cap against Northern Ireland in Coleraine.
