Looking ahead and back on events on the same day in years gone by.

Diary_Walden1    TUESDAY

1992    England striker Gary Lineker scores a hat-trick in our 3-0 home win over West Ham United.

2012    Swansea City defeated 3-1 at White Hart Lane. Emmanuel Adebayor hits two.

2    WEDNESDAY

1900    We play at Thames Ironworks in a benefit match for England winger Tom Bradshaw who had died following illness at the age of 26.  Player-manager John Cameron scores twice in our 3-0 win.

1956    John Ryden scores on his Spurs debut at Preston where we draw 3-3.  His brothers George and Hugh were also professional footballers.

3    THURSDAY

1974    Neil McNab goes on as substitute at home to Chelsea for his Spurs debut. He is just 16 and still an amateur.  We lose 2-1.

1982    We beat Leicester City 2-0 at Villa Park in our FA Cup semi-final clash, on our way to retaining the trophy.

4    FRIDAY

1914    Our winger Fanny Walden (pictured, right) makes his England debut to become the smallest player ever to represent his country.  He was just 5’2”.

1993    We lose by the only goal to Arsenal in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Wembley.  Lee Dixon is sent off.
