Two first half goals saw us register a deserved 2-0 win over previously unbeaten Premier League leaders Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon (October 2).
Danny Rose’s early cross was inadvertently steered into his own net by City’s Aleksandar Kolarov before Dele Alli finished off an incisive move to double the lead on 37 minutes.
Erik Lamela could have added a third after the break but saw his penalty saved by Claudio Bravo, while the latter’s opposite number Hugo Lloris pulled off some vital saves to thwart Sergio Aguero and substitute Kelechi Iheanacho.
It was City’s first defeat of the season in all competitions and one that saw Mauricio Pochettino get the better of rival boss Pep Guardiola after their previous time in charge of Espanyol and Barcelona in Spain.
We therefore remain the only unbeaten side in the Premier League this season and go into the international break on a real high.
