Adam Myers, was nominated by his cousin Debbie Allen for donating his kidney and saving Debbie’s life following a chronic kidney disease she suffered from since 2003. Adam is a life long, Season Ticket Holder and Debbie is a diehard Arsenal fan. So as part of the ‘deal’ in receiving Adam’s Kidney, Debbie would wear our famous Lilywhite shirt. Debbie said "I agreed to wear a Spurs shirt from the day before the operation for 24 hours and I was photographed in the shirt and uploaded it to all my social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). In 24 hours we managed to raise over £7,000 for Kidney Research UK. By doing this we hoped to raise awareness of 'Live' Kidney donation and general awareness of people signing up for the donor register because without the likes of Adam, people like myself could have a limited lifespan or would have to spend their lives on a dialysis machine 3 times a week unable to lead a normal life." To say thank you to Adam we recognised him as a ‘Hotspur Hero’ with a pitchside presentation with Pat Jennings at our last north London derby against Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Sunday 30 April 2017. Adam said "What a day it has been at White Hart Lane, beating Arsenal 2-0 and being recognised as a Hotspur Hero. It has been the best day” We congratulate Adam for stepping up and of course Debbie for her bravery.
