Steve Perryman

1969 - 1986

The most loyal player in the Club's history, Steve Perryman played over 850 matches in all competitions and holds the record for most appearances in the league, FA Cup, League Cup and Europe.

In a glittering career he also won more medals than any other player at the Lane with two League Cups, two UEFA Cups and two FA Cups alongside the honour of the Football Writers' Player of the Year in 1982.

Signing apprentice forms in 1967, Perryman made his league debut in 1969 as a midfielder but he would spend most of his career in the famous white shirt in defence. He was named captain in 1975.

Perryman finally moved to Oxford and onto Brentford before kicking off his managerial career at Griffin Park in 1987. Managed Watford before returning to the Lane as assistant manager. Now back in the country after managing in Japan with Ossie Ardiles.
