Paul made the trip south to White Hart Lane in May 2004, having left Leeds United after relegation to the Championship. The shot stopper produced fine form in his opening two season at Spurs, helping us to 5th place in the Premier League in 2005/2006.
“Robbo” went to Germany to represent England at the 2006 World Cup, performing well, helping them to the quarterfinal defeat to Portugal. Shortly after the World Cup exit, the 6ft 4 ‘keeper’s confidence was knocked by that Gary Neville back pass in Croatia. Robinson couldn’t find the form in the 2006/2007 season, despite scoring a goal from his own half against Watford.
Unfortunately the ex Leeds man struggled to regain the form he initially showed, and under Ramos he was dropped for a number of games for Czech, Radek Cerny. Paul did regain his place in time for our League Cup final win over Chelsea, claiming his first piece of silverware.
Paul Robinson became a fan favourite in his 4 years at the Lane before leaving to Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2008.
