Paul followed in the footsteps of cousin Clive Allen, arriving at White Hart Lane a year later in June 1985. The energetic winger traded East London for North London after having a successful period at West Ham, featuring in their FA Cup final win over Arsenal.Allen experienced a mixed opening season for Spurs, he capped off a fine debut by opening his goal scoring account for the club, but the performances soon fell away. Allen regained his form and began to demonstrate to the Tottenham supporters his desire and passion for the shirt. The ex West Ham midfielder was renowned for always giving 100%, with his dogged running up and down the right flank. Allen consistently performed during his time with us, taking us to the 1987 and 1991 FA Cup Final before parting company with us for Southampton in 1993.
