Posted on 3 March 2014  - 10:55

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has been working with the community to help improve Haringey residents’ employment prospects, as part of the new stadium development and regeneration scheme.

On Wednesday 5 March, White Hart Lane will be opening its doors from 12pm – 4pm to invite local residents in to a recruitment fair, helping to signpost people to job vacancies in the local area. Representatives from organisations including KFC, Premier Inn and Sainsbury’s will be on hand to talk candidates through jobs available and give tips on how to apply.

Over the next six years the Foundation will be continuning its commitment to the local community by holding further jobs fairs and creating opportunities for people to sign up to an array of apprenticeship schemes, from sports coaching to hospitality, and accredited skills schemes including The Great Grass Project.

WHAT YOU’VE BEEN SAYING ABOUT OUR JOB FAIRS...

On the jobs fairs...

“The Tottenham Hotspur job fair was a great opportunity for us to advertise our positions to the local community. We interviewed several candidates and were delighted to offer an administrative position to someone who has now started work for us and is settling in well.”
Michelle McAuliffe, Ardmore Construction

On the apprenticeship schemes...

“Ensuring our young people gain the skills and training they need to fulfil their potential is vital to getting more of our residents into long-lasting employment. The apprenticeships on offer in Tottenham are a fantastic way for our young people to get a first foot on the jobs ladder.”
Councillor Joe Goldberg, cabinet member for employment

“I’d been going down to the job centre in Tottenham and my advisor told me about the apprenticeships open day at White Hart Lane. Through the apprenticeship scheme I gained my FA Level 2 football coaching qualification and was offered a contract at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. That was three years ago and I’ve been here ever since.”
Tottenham Hotspur Foundation coach, Mo Mumin
