Students at the school, based in Camden, can gain an academic qualification in BTEC (equivalent to 3 A-levels), FA Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching Certificates and also receive daily football training from a member of our Global Coaching team based full time at UCL Academy, while representing the school in college league and cup competitions.
The vision of the programme is to motivate and inspire students to aspire to further education, combining a passion for football and developing their skills and understanding of the game.
Grant Cornwell MBE, Head of Tottenham Hotspur Global Coaching, said: “We have worked successfully with a number of colleges across North London for many years now, using football as the hook with which to engage young people into Further Education.
“Through working with our coaches, students not only get access to a high quality football training and match programme, but also qualifications in class that can ultimately help them further their career and lead them to Higher Education or even employment.”
George Demetriou, Curriculum Leader for PE at The UCL Academy, said: “We are proud to be linked with such a prestigious global organisation and we strive to offer our students an extensive and diverse provision supported by real world leaders in sport.
“Working with the Tottenham Hotspur Global Coaching team will provide our students with a huge incentive and motivation to be ambitious and achieve their goals in a potential career within the football industry.”
