Premier League Works uses the power of football to engage young people aged 16-24 who are not involved in education, training or employment. For some of the participants, this was the first time they had been in an interview scenario.
During recent weeks, the group have completed various employment and life skills sessions to assist them in applying for jobs or returning to education.
One of the participants, Troy, said: “The mock interview was really helpful. I’ve never had an interview before and it helped me that I was asked relevant questions related to a real job. It felt like a real interview and I received some good feedback on what to improve on.”
The programme, funded by the Premier League Charitable Fund and delivered in partnership with the Professional Footballers’ Association and the Prince’s Trust, provides young people with support to develop their personal and social skills giving them the confidence and the experience they need to make a positive transition back into education, access training or gain meaningful employment.
