The OnSide project worked with vulnerable young people aged 10 - 16, who experienced difficulties as they moved towards adulthood, matching them with an adult mentor for a period of 12 months.
Volunteer mentors operated at various locations across the borough of Haringey including schools and community hub clubs. The position involved delivering one-to-one mentoring to young people aged 10 - 16 with the aim of reducing the risk of offending, exclusion from school or becoming not in education, employment or training.
Mentors also assisted Tottenham Hotspur Foundation coaches with their delivery of sports coaching. Sport sessions were delivered as part of the programme to encourage learning and personal development and to aid in confidence and aspiration building for the young people involved.
