Tom appeared in both legs of our Europa League play-off at the start of the 2013-14 campaign before joining QPR on loan for the rest of the season. He helped Rangers back to the Premier League with 26 appearances in the Championship.
At the same time, Tom became a regular in the England Under-21 set-up, making his debut in March, 2013 and as at October, 2014, he'd earned nine caps.
Tom joined Swansea on a season-long loan in August, 2014.
Born in Watford, Tom joined our Academy set-up in July, 2008 and signed his first professional contract in June, 2010.
He performed consistently for our Development Squad during the first half of the 2010-11 campaign before earning a loan move to Orient in January for the rest of the season.
That's where he made his Football League debut and performed superbly in high-profile ties against Arsenal in the FA Cup, where the Os took the Gunners to a replay.
Tom made his breakthrough at Spurs in 2011-12. He made his full debut in the Europa League play-off, second leg against Hearts in August, 2011 and impressed enough to earn starts in the cauldron at PAOK in Greece and then at Stoke in the Carling Cup third round. We lost on penalties, but Tom slotted home his spot-kick.
In total, he made seven appearances for the first team, including five starts in the Europa League.
He continued his progress in 2012-13 with 14 appearances for the first team, including three starts in the Europa League. Of those matches, Tom appeared seven times off the bench in the Premier League.
A player who always looks for possession and rarely gives the ball away, Tom also made 17 appearances and scored once for our Under-21s, pulling the strings as the lads made it all the way to the play-off final at Old Trafford.
