On what was an enjoyable and emotional evening for all who attended, they had the opportunity of hearing from and meeting the many Spurs Legends who came to celebrate the long awaited inductions of Jimmy and Steve.
Steve was present on the evening with Jimmy not being able to attend as he continues his rehabilitation from the stroke he suffered a year ago.
All proceeds from the dinner and auction, both online and on the night itself, were given to the family of Jimmy Greaves in association with the Tottenham Tribute Trust to support his ongoing rehabilitation.
On the evening, Jimmy's son Danny Greaves is pictured receiving the trophy from Spurs Legend, Alan Gilzean. Danny has asked to pass on the following message: “On behalf of my father, I would like to thank everyone at Tottenham Hotspur for the wonderful evening myself and my family and guests had at the Hall of Fame dinner and to also thank their ongoing support in my Dad’s rehabilitation.”
“My Dad is very much aware of the support from Spurs fans over the years and in particular is thankful for all the kind messages sent to him over the past 12 months.”
"He has great memories of his time at the Club and is proud to have inducted into the Tottenham Hotspur Hall of Fame alongside Steve Perryman, joining such an illustrious roll of honour, many of who were present on the night.”
Keith Burkinshaw, our former manager who guided us to promotion back to the First Division in 1978, the FA Cup in 1981 and 1982 and the UEFA Cup in the 1984, presented Steve, who was his captain throughout that period, with his trophy. Steve, in his acceptance speech, gave those present an in-depth look back at his playing career at Spurs in which he made a Club record of 866 appearances between 1969 and 1986.
