Objects

Many an inanimate item has proved an important stepping stone in our emergence from our formation in 1882 right up until the present day. We look at a variety of them, continuing this month with two giants from White Hart Lane.

objects-1-november This picture is from Bill Nicholson’s own collection. It was taken in the early 1980s and shows the great man with a number of souvenirs, trophies and gifts that had been presented to the Club on past tours.

The items were being collated ahead of the publication of the original Glory, Glory Nights’ book and used to illustrate a tome that told such a great story of our European adventure that it was updated and re-released last year.

And, when looking at the photograph, you can’t help focussing on the two large trophies that have been on permanent display at White Hart Lane ever since – mainly because it is difficult to fit them into the club archive!
