Flashback with Maurice Norman

England international centre-half Maurice Norman was the mainstay of our ‘Double’ side whose defensive brilliance and consistency saw him emerge as one of the best defenders around. Born in Mulbarton, Norfolk, he joined Spurs from Norwich City in 1955 but bad luck with injury forced him to retire in 1967. He currently lives near Felixstowe.
