Towering striker Ryan Loft is an imposing presence on the pitch and possesses a fierce shot.
Born in Gravesend, he made his Football League debut for Stevenage after linking up with them on loan in January, 2017. In all, he made nine appearances for the Hertfordshire side in League Two during 2016-17, in addition to playing 11 times for our Under-23s in the Premier League 2, scoring in home matches against Liverpool and Reading - both games co-incidentally played at Stevenage's Lamex Stadium.
In his younger days, Ryan attended Northfleet Technology College. Prior to joining us, he played for Dartford and Ebbsfleet United and was a high jump champion while at school.
Back in 2013-14, Ryan made three appearances for our Under-18s, scoring in a 5-4 defeat to Aston Villa in May, 2014, on his first start.
In 2014-15, his tally of 13 goals made him our second highest scorer at Under-18 level. Playing 25 times, Ryan also made three substitute appearances in the FA Youth Cup and stepped up for his Under-21s debut when he featured off the bench at home to Norwich in March, 2015. He also scored the winning goal against Benfica in the final of the Premier League Under-18 Champions Cup in September, 2014, and was part of the side that secured IMG Cup glory in Florida in December, 2014.
Ryan was our Under-18s' top scorer by some distance in 2015-16, netting 13 goals in 22 league appearances, while also scoring once in two FA Youth Cup games.
He opened his goalscoring account at Under-21 level with a fine finish in a 3-2 victory against Norwich at a packed Carrow Road in front of the live television cameras in October, 2015, and made three additional substitute appearances at that level throughout that campaign.
He also had a brief 'work experience' spell at National League outfit Braintree Town in the latter months of the 2015-16 season, where he appeared on the Essex side's bench twice.
