Towering striker who has now stepped up into the Under-21s reckoning after playing a regular part for our Under-18s over the last two years.
He was our Under-18s' top scorer by some distance in 2015-16, netting 13 goals in 22 league appearances, while also scoring once in two FA Youth Cup games.
Ryan opened his goalscoring account at Under-21 level with a fine finish in a 3-2 victory against Norwich at a packed Carrow Road in front of the live television cameras in October, 2015, and made three additional substitute appearances for Ugo Ehiogu's side throughout last term.
He also had a brief 'work experience' spell at National League outfit Braintree Town in the latter months of the campaign, where he appeared on the Essex side's bench twice.
Ryan attended Northfleet Technology College and was born in Gravesend. Prior to joining us, he played for Dartford and Ebbsfleet United and was a high jump champion while at school.
Back in 2013-14, Ryan made three appearances for our Under-18s, scoring in a 5-4 defeat to Aston Villa in May, 2014, on his first start.
In 2014-15, his tally of 13 goals made him our second highest scorer at Under-18 level. Playing 25 times, Ryan also made three substitute appearances in the FA Youth Cup and stepped up for his Under-21s debut when he featured off the bench at home to Norwich in March, 2015.
He also scored the winning goal against Benfica in the final of the Premier League Under-18 Champions Cup in September, 2014, and was part of the side that secured IMG Cup glory in Florida in December, 2014.
