Goalkeeper Luke McGee joined Peterborough United on loan at the end of the summer 2016 transfer window after being named on the bench for us in Premier League home matches against Crystal Palace and Liverpool in August, 2016.
He trained regularly with - and acted as back-up to - senior stoppers Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm throughout the 2015-16 season and, in doing so, he was able to pick up some valuable pointers from the international duo, plus Goalkeeping Coach Toni Jimenez.
He was named on the first team bench twice in February, 2016, after Lloris picked up a slight injury - the second and third time he'd made the senior squad in a competitive fixture having first done so when we travelled to Asteras Tripolis in the Europa League on November 6, 2014.
He picked up some senior game time during the pre-season spell in the summer of 2015 and played six competitive matches for our Under-21s throughout 2015-16.
Born in Edgware, Luke joined us in 2012 and made more appearances for our Under-18s than any other player in 2012-13, featuring 19 times in league action.
He also featured in all three FA Youth Cup matches we played that season and made two appearances in the NextGen Series, including our fine 4-1 win away to Barcelona.
In 2013-14, he made 17 appearances for our Under-18s and played twice more in the FA Youth Cup, while also making his first two appearances at Under-21 level.
He went on our tour of the US and Canada in the summer of 2014 and made his senior debut when replacing Brad Friedel for the last 15 minutes of our victory over Chicago Fire.
He was a regular for us in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League in 2014-15, starting 18 games at that level, and also trained frequently with our senior stoppers.
