Industrious central midfielder Luke Amos has come up through the age groups in our Academy and, in January, 2018, joined League Two Stevenage on loan for the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign.
He played for the first team during our summer friendly programme in 2016, was named on the bench in a competitive game for the first time in October, 2016, during an EFL Cup fourth round trip to Liverpool, and then joined Southend United on loan in January, 2017, making three appearances in League One throughout the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign. He also started 14 games for our Under-23s in the Premier League 2, many of them as captain.
A regular once again for our Development Squad in the first half of 2017-18, Luke made the senior bench once more in a 3-0 UEFA Champions League victory over APOEL at Wembley in December, 2017, and did likewise in our FA Cup fourth round tie at Newport County in January, 2018, days before linking up with Stevenage.
Born in Welwyn Garden City, Luke has occasionally been deployed as a full-back as well as in his more recognised deep-lying central midfield berth.
He made 12 appearances for our Under-18s in 2013-14.
During the 2014-15 season he helped us beat Benfica to lift the Premier League Under-18 Champions Cup in September, 2014, and was also part of the side that secured IMG Cup success in Florida in December, 2014. Domestically, he scored three goals in 20 league appearances for the Under-18s in 2014-15, started all six of our FA Youth Cup ties and appeared four times for us at Under-21 level - starting once and going on as a substitute on three occasions.
That campaign also saw Luke make his debut for England Under-18s.
He subsequently made 18 league appearances for our Under-21s over the course of the 2015-16 season and started all four of our games in the Premier League Under-21 International Cup, scoring in a 3-1 win over German side FC Schalke 04 in November, 2015.
