A detailed timeline on the route our current players have taken from day one on their way to Tottenham. This month we feature our new Belgian international Nacer Chadli.

1989 Born on August 2 at Liege, a major city in the French-speaking region of Belgium, on the eastern borders with Holland and Germany.

1994 Starts out in youth football with local club JS Thier-a-Liege where he shows good style on the left wing and stays for the next four years.


1998 Crosses the city to the Stade Maurice Dufrasne to join top Belgian club Standard Liege. Remains with Les Rouches for seven years where his emergence continues.

2005 Makes his first move to Holland to join MVV Maastricht’s youth set-up.

2007 Signs his first professional contract with the then Dutch second division club AGOVV Apeldoorn in the July. The club, known as De Blauwen, were so concerned that other clubs would also spot his talent that they used an alias when he was first invited for a trial. Makes his league debut in the September against RKC Waalwijk.
